Okay. I've added my foglights, connected them using the wiring behind the headlights, inserted the relay, and have found A harness in the dash with a plug on it. Here's the deal: I've purchased several genuine LR switches for the dash that are labelled as "fog light" switches. They are part #AMR4138. LR dealership in town shows the same part number in their parts book. The plug (that I'm assuming is the fog light plug) doesn't fit the switch. I couldn't find any other plugs with out yanking all of the wiring from the dash. Can someone tell me what exactly are the colors of the wires on the harness and plug? Are the part #s of the switches correct? Thanks as always! |

If it's a D2, then the plug is a 5way with pins: 1 - Pink/black 2 - Red/Brown 4 - Black 5 - Blue/Purple Hope this helps Mark '99 D2 TD5 |

Jack, You have the right switch, assuming we are talking a series 1 discovery. The connector that the switch plugs into should be there next to the cruise control switch in the switch bank located below the hazard light button. If it's not there, look to see if it's wedged up behind the switch bank area- It will be tough as that area is really tight. Take another look and check back in if you can't find it. Dave |

Yes, it's a D1. I have "looked/felt" all around. The harness that I found looks correct but just won't fit. I found it back in the dash to the right of the instrument cluster. The plug is nearly an exact fit but a slot on the switch is like a millionth of an MM away from matching. |

That's exactly the way mine was. Half a mm off. I forced it on and it slightly cracked the receptacle on the switch housing. No problem though, works fine. If I had it to do again, I'd try and trim with an exacto. |

That's very odd. You'd think that LR would want an exact fit. I've looked at every other switch from LR and this is the only one that is close. Thanks for all of your help. Guess I'm out to trim. |

Okay, I now have lights!!! Just as a hint: There are 2 plugs hidden in the dash! One was green (the fog light plug) and the other one was black (purpose unknown). Anyone have a clue? |

The black one is for the heated windshield switch. |
