Does any body have any experience with these? The Kit Includes: a pair differential guards, steering & gearbox plates for $719.00. I was looking to buy some protection and kinda of like the idea of buying it all at once? Does anybody know if these are good skid plates or of any other kits out there? I was hoping to use these with an ARB bumper in the future.

http://www.discoweb.org/abskid/index.htm

i have this kit

though your link is wrong

i dont recommend it because the trann y plate is too big and gets in the way.

i like my front skid plate and the diff guards, i'd say just buy those seperate and if you have to get the trann y plate call www.rockware.net they manufacuture one that fits closer.

feel free to email me further questions

The skid plate does fit on a DI with a non airbag ARB. Looks sharp too.

Dr.,

Just buy the diff guards and the steering guard and save the money on the trans plate. Oh, and before you mount the diff guards, paint them red or yellow or something so you can find them if they get knocked off on the trail. You can also use little zip wires to tether them to the axle just in case.

Ron,

This isn't the aluminium plate is it then? Do you know (or would you post a full link to) the actual "front skid plate" that you're using?

I'm running the D1 ARB Non-air bumper as well.

Thanks in advance and cheers!

Its not on my truck its on Dom's truck (Red 97).

There are a couple of bad pics of it in the MAR2001 trails section of it getting its lift and it in action at night. I know he also sent in some video footage of the pine barrens so maybe in that too (I have a slow connection).

He got it from AB. Not sure which one it is but it fit with a non airbag ARB and a warn XD9000i

Looks nice. I personally have an AB D90 skid plate which looks nice too.

All and all I prefer just HD steering rods.

its not aluminium, its annodized(sp) steel...I have had the skid plate for a couple of years, and it has worked well so far.

Scott:
Steel isn't anodized, aluminum is. It may be chromate conversion coated, phosphatized, black oxided, powder coated, or even painted, but not anodized.
