Hello Everyone, My delima is that my license plate on the front bumper was ripped off. There are 4 holes on the center section of the bumper. I cannot see any way to put the license plate except for one of two options. First, a friend of mine recommended that I drill holes into the steel portion of the bumper and attach the plate directly on. Second, I could go to the dealer and have them figure out how to fix it but I know it may cost me a pretty penny. If anyone out there has any suggestions or recommendations I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions. Joe Fulay |

weld it on. mount it to the roofrack buy a new roverym bumper lag bolt a 2x4 on the front and screw it onto that. Or take off the plastic crap and then get some washers and mount it back on the plastic crap with some bolts put it all back on and be done with it Ron |

Send me $5 for shipping and your address and I'll send you my front tag mounting kit that came with my 2001 DII. I'm not using it and it is still sealed in plastic. Not sure what it includes, but it should be everything necessary to attach a tag to the front of a stock bumper. Email me if you want it. Greg [email protected] |

If it is a D1, crawl under the front and look up, or rater Feel up inside the plastic crap where the plate was. There are 2 holes. They should match up with 2 holes on your plate. The only way to match up all 4 holes is to remove the whole plastic piece. It's not that bad of a job...4 screws, I think. You will have to remove your front air dam, first, though. I think that is 6 bolts. It sounds like a lot of work, but you should be able to knock it all out and be on your way in 15-20 min. |

Thanks for all the suggestions...I am willing to try them all. I especially like the suggestion about the 2x4... Joe Fulay |

If it is a disco II, there is a bolt in the center of the space for the plate. Go to Pep Boys, buy a plate mounting bracket for $7 drill a hole in the middle, take the bolt to the hardware store and get one 1" longer and put the bracket on with a lockwasher to keep it from spinning. |
