I have read recently in an Australian magazine about a set of gears from the UK that replaces the rubber timing belt in the TDI. Aparently the gears are used in London taxi's. The gears in the story had failed and the reason why was never stated. Probably badly fitted by the user. We will never know. Any ideas/comments please write me at the email address below. Hi Ron, you are talking about the Zeus timing gear, I assume. I once considered fitting it to my Disco but the bad reputation put me off. Thank god I have to admit, I heard about quite a few failures since. Would be nice to read your report as well, so, drop it in my mail box if you don't mind! Regards Johannes |
