I found a Defender110 for sale at a price I can live with...I just have to sell the Disco first. I went and checked it out and fell in love with it.
Does anyone know the good/bad points comparing a 110 to a Disco? Which is better off road? I know the Disco is better On road.
It is an imported 1984 model, by the way.
Thanks!

Greg,

I was honored to own NAS D110 200/500 about a year and half. HD LR springs, OME shocks, ARB, winch, you name it. Unless you remove the cargo basket off the roof, you will hardly follow your Disco wheeling buddies down the trail. Other than the height, it is very heavy with that roll cage. But for wide trails and mud, it is a good rig for almost anything. Good luck and I am interested to hear what price you found that actually seems to make sense. I paid too much for mine, but got all my money back when i sold it so I suppose they are really holding their value.

Hey Will,

I bought it from ex-Falcon's QB Steve Bartkowski in Atlanta in June 2000 and sold it to a friend of mine here in town last February. 45,000 miles on it. I've also owned a '65 IIa 88 (sold to Jeff Bieler) and a 1995 LWB Classic (traded to Bartkowski). Still have a '95 SWB Classic and the Disco.

110: the quintessential expedition vehicle. Very noticable, given their rarity here in the US. They are versatile and capable.

The Disco is more comfortable on the highway. The Disco is also a little better off-road, in some situations (the longer wheelbase is limiting in certain terrain, but can be a help in other places).

It's easy enough to find another Disco later, but if you've got a good deal lined up on a 110, well, they don't come along as often.

Good luck,

-L

The beauty of the 110 is that, if you take good care of it, you will easily recoup the majority of your investment when you resell it.

Is it the red one at Turky's?

there are a lot of people reading this board. you might want to keep your leads hush-hush before someone scoops it up.

No secret, except how is he getting 110s past customs/dot/epa and he's in Charleston with customs all over town??

greg, there's some 110 action in the new BACK EAST video.
110s are indeed nice regardless of its' performance.

Yeah. I'm not worried about someone snatching it up. If they do, it wasn't meant to be, and I am happy as a cat in a sandbox with my Disco.
If it were up to me, everyone would own one who wants one.

Besides...he is always getting more in.

About the customs-thing...I asked how he was doing it, and he said it isn't as hard as everyone says. I asked if they were U.S.legal and he said, "It has a S.C Title."

Good enough for me.

I will be running the VIN # by my insurance co. and checking the title to see what it is registered as before I buy, though.
