Today I installed a pair of IPF 900s. Followed the simple instructions, the lights didnt work. Got out the test light and found that everything was getting power. But when I plugged the relay in, no power was coming out. Initially when I pluuged the relay in, it made a strange noise and then nothing. I hot wired the lights without the relay to make sure the lights actually worked, and they did. I am pretty sure the relay is not working. How can I go about getting a relay for the lights from IPF. The lights are brand new. Any advice, is apprecited. Thanks Matt |

Hey Matt, I just hooked up the lights on my roof rack on Saturday and I had a similar problem (Hellas). When I flicked the switch the relays buzzed like crazy...very high frequency noise that could be heard in the cabin. I pulled the cover off the relays and noticed that the contact was limiting the travel of the top pivot plate to the end of the electromagnet. By bending the contact slightly I was able to get the pivot plate to rest against the end of the electromagnet...when the switch was flipped the relay then made the typical "click" noise and not the buzzing sound. You may have the opposite problem the contact may be bent in such a manner that it doesn't complete the circuit. Hope this helps. jeff. |
