i finally narrowed my problem down to a faulty stepper motor, which will not allow the engine to idle at all anymore. i searched all archives and found the napa and ac delco part numbers for the stepper motor, and picked one up. trouble is, its the wrong one. i've got a 96 DI, and it appears the numbers i got were for the 95 and older Discos....because this one just doesn't fit; its too large with a threaded fit...the 96 has one that just slides in with a twist. does anyone know an aftermarket replacement for this? rover wants 250 for it, and autozone wants 235! this is ridiculous! the one i bought that seems to fit the 95 and older discos was only 25 bucks@! please tell me one of you knows where i can get this cheaper!???? |

discountrovers.com had them on the web site. Pretty sure they were cheaper than those you listed. BTW what was the part number on the stepper you have? I have a 95 disco and I'll probably replace the stepper soon. |

I have a 96 and I did the same thing. My problem turned out to be the fuel pump. I have a napa 94-95 stepper motor if anyone wants it. Cal |
