Clock bulb went out on my 96'. Manual says to undo the two clips holding the clock assembly in after removing the 'dummy' switches/cruise control button assembly. I removed the dummy switches - but don't see any way of getting the clock out now. Help? |

Stephen, It is a real PITA to get the clock out the first time. Until you can see how the damn thing is held in there, you have no idea how to go about getting it out. Through sheer determination I managed to rip my complete dash out. The clock proved the most difficult part. It turns out all you need to do is insert a very thin and stiff piece of metal into the small gap at the top of the clock assembly. While applying a constant pressure towards you, through the space the "dummy switch" and the cruise control were initially located, attempt to slide the metal strip ( I used a "slim-jim" for this) back towards the dash, so as to release a "plastic-clip" that holds the clock in place. You will feel the clip release when you hit it. After that you should be able to jiggle the clock free. If not repeat above steps in the gap below the clock. The second and third time around is much easier. Mark |

Adding to this thread... When I bought my Disco, the I assumed the bulb was out for the clock as well as the bulb that lights up the heating/ac controls. There is a light for the heat/ac, isn't there? My clock is in reverse where everthing is black and the numbers are transparent. Is this normal? Also, would anyone have a picture of a Disco I dash lit up at night? it would help to determine where the dash lights are supposed to be. Thanks in advance! Santo 98' Disco I LSE |
