Hello, I have a 95 Disco 1. The key is stuck in the ignition. I brought the car to the dealer, and they fixed the brake switch.. however they said to fix the key stuck, I would have to replace the shifter assembly costing 1200.00. I would have been led to do this until one day I left my lights on and ran my battery dead. To my surprise my keys where no logner stuck and the whole iginition worked fine. Leading to me maybe a bad switch is keeping my key stuck in the ignigtion. Does anyone have any ideas? |

Sounds like the park switch on the transmission. If you jam the trans lever forward can you make it come out?? |

if the button gets all slimed up and dosent pop out the key gets locked in...its part of the safty? system. spray a little tri-flow/WD40 in the shifter knob and work it till it snaps out.if it just slowly slides out the key will still be locked in. |
