Author Message   Susannah Posted on Thursday, June 06, 2002 - 09:20 am:    My Disco only has one original mudflap left (I bought it like that), and it's on the driver's side...so I purchased the passenger side one to try and make it look more normal. However, I can't figure out how to remove the remaining top portion of the old one. It seems to be riveted onto the holder...not bolted. Any suggestions? I figure once I get it off I can replace it with bolts. Not many rocks here to tear them off. If you take them off, your friends will hate following you when it rains. That means you are stuck in the back with the rest of the mud-flappless lot. Hehehe. If you slot the holes they wont rip anymore when they get tugged. They will just slide off and you can reattach them later pretty easily. Dont go hacking on the poor flaps.... Thanks everyone!   gp (Garrett) Posted on Friday, June 07, 2002 - 09:59 am:    to get all those neat-o characters go to the formatting section on the left. <-------------- then scroll down and click on the link for clipart. there you will find all kinds of little do dads. for the barf one i used \clipart {barf} but don't put a space after clipart....i just did that so it would not post the barfing dude. you can attached pics by using the word 'attach' instead of 'clipart'. again you will see this in the same section in formatting. use the 'practice area' in topics to practice posting pics of you rig. and when you get enough pics you can send them to Ho Chung and he will make you a purty gallery. after a year or two i still have not gotten around to this though. haha   Susannah Posted on Friday, June 07, 2002 - 10:21 am:    Very cool Garrett. Thanks for all the info. I'm learning quickly about this site and I'm really glad I have a chance to talk to other Disco people. I was thinking all these years I was the only person obsessed with these vehicles (and so was my family!!)! I'm not sure I'll ever post pictures either...I don't have a scanner available or a digital camera, but it would be a nice idea. You said "central VA", I'm not sure if that means Farmville or Richmond or C'ville, but it may be only an hour or so away from you and you can find some trails that aren't ball-busters. Someone going the extra mile to retain something it came with. Now , if you would just leave those ladders in that trash can Mike..... You should also consider changing the reciver on your trailer and truck over to a pintle style. They are noisey ass hell but they will twist around mmuch better then your current conventional style Ball/coupler... The truck has a standard ball and the trailer tongue has a cup that was specially designed by a company for the Rubicon. It was adapted to this trailer (which had a pintle). I will post a photo of it when I get around to putting up my page. It's as quiet as a regular hitch but has near pintle flex.   Greg P. (Gparrish) Posted on Monday, June 10, 2002 - 10:16 am:    Great looking trailer. Did you build yourself or buy? Also, what is the deal on the trailer tongue that looks like a small hydrolic piston? Do you ever find that the trailer puts any undue resistance on the truck in mud or slick terrain? Just curious, as it looks like a possible alternative to carrying everything on top of the disco. Also looks like you have a tent on top.
