I will be doing the brake pads on our 4.0SE this weekend and was wondering if anyone could give me detailed description of how to do them. I have done the pads on my disco 1, so I'm not completly ignorant in this area. Thanks for any help! |

The article used plies to squeeze the carrier to retract the pistons slightly so that you can remove the housing, I used a large c-clamp. I also used a large c-clamp against the old brake pad to retract the pistons. |

I second Alan's approach. C-clamps worked real well for me. But I used two, top and bottom. Carl |

Only one concern, when you retract the piston open the bleed screw to allow the fluid in the piston to escape. this will keep you from pumping all the crud that accumulates in the piston bottom back up in the system. attach a hose to the nipple and drain into a plastic milk jug. Dee |
