It just started last week. Like clock works, when I hit 50 Mph the engine seems to cut in and out, very systematically. And I can't go over 55 Mph. It's seems like it should be doing that a like a 100 Mph... I don't think it's the fule injector, because it runs perfectly otherwise.

have you replaced your fuel filter recently? sounds like it's not letting enough fuel through.

going through the same thing with my 97 disco. Just ordered a speed sensor and a fuel filter. I suspect it is the spped sensor since the truck runs fine until it hits certain speeds then it acts like a rev limiter is kicking in.

I am thinking I have a similar problem as the one you mentioned. Do you know how I can get info on changing the fuel filter and speed sensor in my 95 disc.? Would the Chiltons manual tell these things? My disc. is reving and the throttle is dropping out as I keep a constant acceleration applied.

any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

My 97 did the same thing a few days ago. Changed VSS and it runs fine now.

I have had that problem for the past month. I replaced the VSS and the fuel filter and it is doing fine now. I also got alittle better gas milage. Both of these are easy to do and require very little time.
