I recently had the following problem. When trying to start my '02 D2, I got nothing but silence. I called Land Rover Recovery thinking that I would have to be towed. I was told to get out of the vehicle, lock it with the key, then remote button followed by the reverse procedure, open with key and then remote button. Put the key into the ignition, turn to first position, wait 10 seconds and then start it. It worked. I just had it happen to me again and followed the same advice. It worked again. I was told that the alarm was probably not set correctly. I guess I will have to have Land Rover service check it out. Anyone had the same thing happen to them?

I have had a similar problem where I would unlock my 2001 D2 with the remote and get into the truck and turn the key to have all of the warning lights come on as usual, but no starter motor activity.

I thought I was accidentally hitting the "lock" ley with my fingers as I turned the key, but not so.

So anyhow, all I need to do is hit the unlock key once I'm in the car and it works. I had the service guys take a look, but they couldn't reproduce the symptom, as it's intermittent in nature.
