I saw some pictures I believe here with a Disco 1 with a Disco 2 roof rack. I have the chance to get a Land Rover Adventure rack for cheap but it is for a Disco 2 not a Disco 1. I was told that I have to cut the end mounts about 1/4". Does anybody know if this is true ?

That may be tru, but also keep in mind that a Dd2 rackl is about 6" shorter (front to back). It looks kind of funny.

I have a Disco2 Adventure Rack mounted on my Disco1. There is no need for modification of the end mounts.

The D2 rack is longer and will overhang both the front and back slightly but the gutter mounts are just right to fit on the D1's gutters.

When you install the rack, make sure you have the help of at least one friend (three or four is easier) because we needed to pull and tweak the mounts a little because they were slightly narrower and would have scratched the paint.

Also, if you have a couple of people helping you, make sure that they have a socket wrench and allen key of their own so that all of you can work simultaneously and finish the job faster.

I knew one was shorter than the other.
