I have checked old posts, and can't seem to find the answer to my question.

I have installed Hellas on the front of my D1. I found the plug in the dash and moved it to behind the switch plate, now I need to order the switch. The factory fog light switch should work, right? (Did not come with factory fogs installed) I tried to connect it to the cruise control switch just to see if it would work, and it has the opposite grooves in it.

I think I have found the connectors where the lights are supposed to plug into. They are behind each headlight. (Right?) Where do I get a plug to go from the hellas to the factory plugs? I was going to just cut and splice them together.

Is this whole thing already wired up and ready to go? Does it have power? Do I just plug everything in and go on my merry way? Or do I need to install a power line, relay, and all of that.
I can't seem to find a fuse for the (non-installed) factory fog lights.

Thanks!

Greg - if this is a D1 - you'll also need to plug a relay into the an empty socket behind the drivers side kick panel.

Hey Folks,

Does any one out there have any schematics or diagrams of how you wired in roof rack Hellas to your D2. I would like to utilize the blanks on my left binnacle. This is my next project and I am collecting as much information as I can before I decide which path to take.

I had all my light switching run into a Rangie rover 6 light switch and put into the space above the ashtray. I still have 2 free banks on that switch to expand on plus the stock LR banks.

I think everyone (including myself) want to know:

Using a LR fog light switch in conjunction with Hellas...

Lr Switch has:
Pin #1-?
Pin #2-?
Pin #3-?
Pin #4-?
Pin #5-?

Hella harness has:

2 female connectors

How is everything wired. We've all heard WHAT you've used but not HOW to use it. I.E. connect both yellows to pin #1, Connect pin #2 to a ground, Connect pin #3 to green wire from blah blah blah, etc.
Thanks all.

Chris,

Are you going to be at Hooters Saturday night? If so, I am going to grill you for light information.

Hey Ho,

There is nothing wrong with stimulating, yet intellectual conversation at Hooters. :)

After seeing Chris's switch panel for his lights I knew that was the only way to wire them for a nice factory look.
Go to http://www.geocities.com/baja/canyon/4628/
For a link on how to wire them.

MTB, thanks for posting that. I always loose that link in my bookmarks. Thats the directions I used for my setup.

Paul, LOL.. I had a whole slew of smart-ass comebacks to your questions but since I have some idiot waiting for me for at his desk to fix his workstation, the short answer is yes, Lisa and I will be stopping up.

In those instructions they say to use a .110" female connector for the switch. I could not find any that size, I used .125 female connector and it works fine. If you go with the 6 switch panel.
I bought mine at Rover Connections switch's were $9 each and the 6 switch panel was $5.

Ok..so where does the relay go once I got the switch in? Is there already a place for it somewhere? (Mine was already wired for fogs)

I just screwed the relay into the breakfast, then screwed the in-line fuse right next to it. I installed a second auxilliary power box in-line with the battery because of all the accesories i have. I got the box at Napa. I put the box in a travel soap carrier to make it water tight. LR switches are not designed to take the load of the lights. You have a much better chance of longevity and success with in-line fuses and relays.
