I was looking at getting 16x7 rims from GCR and then getting 265/75 tires.. But, I'm going to want to go larger 33-35s at some point down the line so I'm thinking that I would be better off getting the 15x8 rims from GCR and then getting 32x11.5 tires.. My question is with 4 inches of lift how much would I have to trim the wheel wells out to fit the 11.5 inch wide tires given the backspacing of the GCR rims are 4.25"? Would I just need to trim a little off the back lip like everyone else just like I would if I went with the 265/75s? Or would I be looking at trimming an inch all the way around the wheel well? |

I have a small 2" lift, and have been able to settle with 32.2x10.5x16 TSL radials on the D110 5.5x16 wheels, which are INset at 22mm (.8"). Now are full compression, the tire rubs a wee bit with the inner cabin wall...nothing major. Now I've hacked almost all the rear overhangs, and have custon made rear trail arms that relocate the rear axle 3/4" rearward. From my calculation, the full width of the tire from the face of the flange to the inner sidewall is 5.25" (1/2 the tire width) + 0.8" (the INset), which is ~6.1"...so when you calculate the new tire/wheel off/in set...take into consideration that it should not enter more than 6" or so. with 4" lift, and some trimming (+ relocation of the axle) you should be able to fit decent tire sizes. e-mail Brian jackson, and/or check out the flares from ECR.
