Hi all, I'm trying to help a neighbor install foglights in his 99 Series 1 "SD". It has the foglight wires and plugs behind each headlamp housing, but I wonder if the plug for the factory foglight switch is tucked somewhere inside the dashboard. I have only looked from the fuse panel area, but I hesitate to do further "exploratory surgery" unless I know it is up there somewhere. Anyone ever found this little bugger? Thanks, Rich |

Just completed this project. There are two plugs within the dash. One is green one is black. The green plug is the foglight plug. Wiggle the large wiring loom found to the right of your instrument cluster inside your dash. You SHOULD hear the knock of the plug hitting something in the dash. Slowly pull the plug/wires down and it should fall. |

If you can't find them, you may have to do some exploratory surgery. Pull out the panel that the cruise control switch is on, then remove the ashtray. Remove the 3 screws on each side. Pull the whole assembly off. Open up the fuse access pnl under the steering wheel. Play with all of the pretty wires up there until you find the green connector. Re-route it so it is behind the switch panel, then put everythiong back together. Buy a switch. |
