BACK EAST VIDEO

I watched the new BACK EAST video this weekend and REALLY enjoyed it. Another great effort by the DiscoWeb team. The Moab video was very good too, but a bit monochromatic scenery-wise. Sand colored rocks all start to look the same. The BACK EAST video really showed of the varied terrain and conditions the east coast has to offer, especially the MUD.

I did notice that you all responded to the criticism of the swearing in the Moab video by adding MORE swearing in this one. And it wasn't even Kyle this time!!

I enjoyed the Back East video, too. It seemed well produced with narration and music and proffesional looking scene cuts. The narration didn't get in the way of the action as in some videos, but it was enough of it to make me have a pretty good idea of what was going on.
It's hard to compare this one to the Moab video. They are both good, but two different animals.
It also looks like quality equipment was used to make both videos. The picture quality is very good, and does not have that poorly shot, shaky home movie look at all, like some might excpect. I think it is well worth the price. There are no more Camel Trophy videos being made, but the Discoweb videos holds their own and give a good Rover fix!

Are the videos available in other formats than NTSC?

Not at this time. But even though the store pages state that we only accept orders from the US or Canada, we will sell a copy to anyone anywhere as long as they are sure that their equipment can play back an NTSC tape. However, anyone outside of the US or Canada MUST specify in the message field on the Paypal order that they do indeed want an NTSC copy.

Yes, there are more videos to come, but not until some time in the fall. And there will be others after the one you saw a preview for.... :)

I received my copy the other day, and just finished watching it. It was a great Rover flick. It was nice to see some of the older Series Rovers in some of the segments, too.
One question, though. I noticed that in the Canada segmnet, whenever the white Range Rover went throug a muddy section, there was this high pitched whining noise. What was that? I know the narrator said something about a blown ARB seal at one point, but I heard the noise several times.

Jw: I think it was the air horn of the RR...

It was the dredded curse of the ARB over and over again. YOu noticed it on those section because those were the sections it was needed. As you can see. It gave up the Ghost each time... Made it somewhat dramatic though didnt it ?? :)

Dreaded curse of the ARB? What do you mean? I was under the impression that the ARB is pretty much a bullet proof locker. You care to elaborate?

The ARB itself may be rock solid, but what good is that if the other components fail? Keep it simple, get a Detroit and fughetaboutit.....

We have added some clarification regarding foreign video orders on the store pages, for the benefit of all the visitors outside USA and Canada.

David and I watched the new vid the other night and enjoyed every minute of it! Especially the part where Kyle navigated the XTREEME sticks course! Really scary, (VBG). Actually, I think those obstacle courses look like fun. There's LOTS of mud for you wet earth lovers, too. I admit, these vids always give us Defender envy. Those trucks are truly eye-popping classics. One strange thing we noticed on the voice-over was the fact that Axel didn't seem to have a Scandanavian accent.....strange! ; )

And I meant to mention Axel did a lot of creative camera work, and none of it will give you that shaky-cam dizziness. Lots of shots that show the under-body armor on the featured trucks and the flexy fun of those suspensions. Loads of rocks, too, for those mineral lovers. Really, it's pretty diverse in the offerings and moves right along to hold one's interest. Pony up your $20.00 and enjoy!

Wooohooo!!! I got the video today!!! I went home for lunch this afternoon, the only thing that sucks is the f-in mailman arrived when I was pulling out of the driveway! Of course I ran back inside and watched the first 5 minutes up to the part when Kyle was winching out of a mud hole in the Pine Barrens.

Man, these will probably be one of the longest 2 hours in my life as I try to wait patiently for 5:00p.m.

Ya, I watched it a few days ago. Didn't realize that I was going to be in it. Funny to hear Kyle and Rob talking about my nice dent free bumpers in the back ground.. Good job again Axel.

Okay... saw the vid last night with a bunch of friends. Very good quality! My youngest son even got his 2 seconds of fame in the Wurtsboro trip. BTW, this might be useful to others, I had my wife watch with me and seeing my wheels spin like hell on rocks all the time, she's about 70% convinced that I do need lockers (hehehe). She's also quite amazed with the series trucks running at the Robesonia trails. (ahem, Honey there's a series 2a for sale on lrx.com)

Overall a very good production and I give it a emthupemthup
