Hello all, not sure if you saw my pictures that I posted a week or so ago but may remember my posting of slicing a brake hose. Anyhow, in exiting the mud hole I sliced the brake hose in, I was unaware of the situation until I gently came to rest against a tree. The fender is beyond repair but I would like to at least try and hammer out the dent with a rubber mallet or something. I know of the screws up top under the hood, and the bolts inside of the door, what else do I need to know to take this fender off and try to make it somewhat straight again? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.. RSThe Dent

You're worse off than me...I saved my fender, but then bullbar is somewhat "off camber", but now bumper is OK after being far "off castor"... A press and some competent hammering of a friend, and it looked just like when i bought the thing.

To me, your fender really doesn't look that bad at all, but I guess the headlight box is worse. It might be worse than can be seen from a Norwegian perspective..., but it just might turn out being worthwhile trying to save it.

I'd remove bullbar, and go find some friend who has done this before - some bottles of beer later I'd guess you're ready for more offroading! You'll be surprised how much can be done with a hammer etc. on steel, but then aluminium is soft...

You should probably be able to knock it out w/o removing fender; fender is secured with some mastic along the top, where it's bolted to the inner well.
Roverly Yours, Frode

Hello Frode,
From the perspective that picture is taken it doesn't really look as bad as it is. The bull bar although f'ing my fender up, actually saved the bumper, turn signal and headlight, and would have ultimately gotten the fender as well. The bull bar was back pretty far. I just pulled with all my might and it looks just fine now. One of the clips behind the headlight is broken, but just at the front corner of that fender where it comes down to the turn signal is bent all to hell. I used a pair of pliars to bend it over so as not to scratch my hood upon opening and closing. I can live with the scar, but would rather have the dent at least hammered out a bit. Take care.. Robert
