i'm thinking of changing my own spark plugs on my DII. I was wondering if any one of u has done this and how difficult it may be. also, what type of spark plugs do u recommend. i was thinking of the bosch plat 4. the one with the 4 spark leads on the tip. my truck has 31k right now. and...what type of ignition wire should i change it to. thx |

go with the plugs listed in your owners manual (champion copper I think). much cheaper than plat 4's, you can change them 3-4 times compared with one set of the 4's. get magnecor wires, Nathan Crabtree at www.discountrovers.com or order direct from www.magnecor.com. when I got mine Nathan was cheaper than magnecor. |

Copper is okay, platinum is fine, don't bother with the 4-prongs, or split tips, etc. Champion is original, a lot here like NGK... FWIW... -L |

See my earlier post under plugs. Problem with the Magnecors in the Disco II is that it sems impossible to get to the coil pack which is squeezed in between the engine and the fire wall. No way to get your hands in there and major work to get to them. If anyone figures out an easy way then I would like to know. www.worst4x4.freeservers.com |

But why would the Magnecors be any worse than the originals? -L |

The Magnecors would not be any worse to fit than the originals. Any time an HT lead would need replacing it would be a huge challenge regardless of make. |

That's what I suspected, just wanted to clarify. Thanks, -L |
