I tkink my 2001 DII is made by phillips, or at least the sub in the rear door is. The cd changer uses the same cartridges that fit into my 2000 ford expedition. I think it is either pioneer or alpine, can't remember.

It's Pioneer...at least for the cd changer. I think somebody told me the whole system was made by Pioneer specifically for Land Rover.

I could use ('95):

- under seat changer (saw one on ebay not long ago for ~350; is that a decent price?)

- mounting bracket for in dash unit (it's just sitting in the hole and flops around a lot)

Any pointers?

A '99 Disco SD (i.e, a Series I), is a Pioneer unit.

Jonathan,
Be very careful with eBay... a lot of non-functioning Rover changers are getting passed around on there, with no real recourse.

FWIW...

I have a 99 Disco 1 also. The CD Changer and Head unit are Pioneer. $350.00 is a decent price for one used, but I got hosed on E-Bay when I bought my CD Changer, I paid $330.00 w/ shipping and handling and it was broken. If it was broken during or prior to shipping it doesn't matter. I talked to Pioneer and the replacement part was going to be almost $400.00. I now have a really expensive paper weight, So my advise is to go to Roverconnection.com and buy a new one. I think it was like $450.00. But at least you know that if something goes wrong in shipping they will replace it. Plus it is cheaper than the dealership. That's just my opinion I could be wrong.

I have the mount for an underseat changer. Free to anyone who wants it and will pay for the shipping. Email me at [email protected]

Definitely a Pioneer. I just had my deck fixed.
