Cannot get into Low Range. Left-Right difflock is smooth and works fine, but in high range only. Cannot shift forward into low range from either side.

New problem - use low range frequently. Used low range just last week, then this.

I'm now trying to pull the shiftlock solenoid, but unable to free it while working from below. Too much joint compound. Am now trying to get at it from the top, through the tranny aperture, but can't figure out how to get the damn automatic transmission shifter off so I can lift off the shifter box and open the tunnel.

Help?

/thanks

So.. apparantly my problem keeping me from shifting into low-range is the shiftlock solenoid. I know this is a safety feature that blocks the linkage unless the transmission is in neutral, but does anyone know if it is a problem running without this installed in the top of the tcase? (obviously - it would be up to me to not try shifting into low range at 75MPH running down the fwy)
