what would happend to my v8 discovery if i take off my cats converters. how would affect the engine performance and also the law point of view. thanks discoweb. |

Depends on where you have your car registered. In Illinois, emissions testing is different in different areas. Check your local laws. It will get louder as the cats also provide some muffling. Also, you have 2 sets of O2 sensors. The second set is after the cats and are trying to detect if the cats are working properly. If they are not there, the data will be incorrect and you will probably also throw Check Engine lights. This part may vary by year on OBD-I and OBD-II. I highly doubt you would get any performance increase. Tom |

If its a Gems equiped it will not like the downstream readings and might make your engine run too lean |
