Which one is better? KVT looks nice but i heard it wasn't "bumperproof" enough. I wanted to hear what all of you think of them

What does the KVT look like? Who makes it? Any links to pictures?

Well i`m stiil undecided. I really DO want a KVT. What Mods and cuts do ya have to make to fit it. Its just I don`t like the other bumper designs out there. They all look lke the ARB bumber with a few diffrent add-ons. The KVT has style and the only other bumper i`d consider is the RTE. BUT as you know RTE don`t make them for the D2`s. If ya can E-mail me the cost of a KVT and what your choice of winch is. If the Mods aren`t that heavy to fit it well then maybe i`ll just have to buy a case or 5 of beer and head over your house in the near future!! After all i got the WIFES BLESSING on MODDING out the D2!! WOOT!! Even said she`d work OT to help pay for them!! DAMN I LOVE MY WIFE!!

I wouldnt sell John short Jeff. I know he is working on one currently and he ussually doesnt take very long. For mine you have to cut the grille and the small sheetmetal panel behind it. In your case I would remove the grille (Gulf states grille) and replace it with a standard ..

That don`t sound all that bad Kyle. I thought you had to cut and weld on the frame and such. Just curious though why would you replace my Mesh grill with a standard. Couldn`t you just cut and trim out my mesh grill???

Well , I have this odd thing about cool stock shit. It would pain me to cut it up. The regular ones are pretty cheap and you can keep that gulf states grille as a conversation piece. I suppose if you really wanted to keep it I could be coersed to cut it.. :)

Hey Kyle I seen HO`s Pics with the KVT on his bumper and yea it does look sweet. But look I figure we can cut my Grill and where we cut we could put a nice molding around it..... Damn I just went out side and looked at my Grill and yea its damn nice looking decisions, desisions!! heheh

Maybe I can get over to your place sometime soon and look at the mods in person(ok so I just want to touch the famouse KVT bumper).

Oh dam Kyle you going to let Peter do that,

Can i order a set of the KVT stickers, is there a grill badge repacement? My Land Rover Logo is pale in comparsion.

To defray the costs of putting those bed frames on your bumpers you could start your own line of clothing like Barbor Wear, call it Kyle Wear
comming soon KVT expedition Ball caps?

LOL. I loved the big furor that developed when jeep reduced the nuber of grill slats on one of their models. Kind of like the inner city riots that developed when the wrangler went to square headlights for a while.

yes, I pull up to my camping spot, throw the mattress on the ground in front of the Disco, and I'm in bidness.

-Blue, pretending to know what the hell a "finial" is...

LOL!!! Good stuff there, Blue. Nothing like the practically and functionality of the dual uses as well ... Kyle, I'm afraid he may have your design beat :).

Just got back in for awhile ... wanted to catch up on what I missed ... as usual, another fine Disco Web Friday :)

Kim
Sadly, I have had a serious technical question to ask, but I don't want to do my usual 'post it on Friday at 5:00 EST' ... It will have to wait. Also, I'm trying to be consciencious to all of you, and screen some of my questions through Greg first ... (however, to be fair to Greg, don't assume that I do prescreen 98.9% of my questions, hehe) :)

Going back a year or two I have been looking for a discoweb hat with a built in KVT pony tail. Ax said he was going to clip me the genuine article but I think he is letting it grow just a mite longer.
