I have a new 2nd-hand winch kit and A-bar, but I'm missing two brackets required for proper installation. Here is an image of the missing parts (circled in red):
I know that LR doesn't sell these parts separately from the kit, so I need to find spares somewhere or else fabricate my own. The problem is that I don't have any drawings or images of the brackets. So, does anyone here have a winch kit laying around that they could photograph, scan, Xerox, or trace the missing brackets for me? Or, are there any LR engineers here that can send me the appropriate drawings? TIA for any advice, Dan Katzenberger 2001 Disco II SE7 Minneapolis, MN USA |

I sure hope not. Actually, it came from another Disco owner who upgraded to a new bumper. He gave me the winch basket for free; I just had to pay for shipping (about $16.00.) I saw this same basket for sale at Rover Connection for $825, so I'd say I got a good deal even without the brackets. I suspect that the brackets are either still on his frame, in his garage, or in the trash. He is checking for me to see if he can find them. In the meantime, I'm excited to get this thing installed so I may just fabricate my own if I can find templates to work from. Dan Katzenberger 2001 Disco II SE7 Minneapolis, MN USA |

Try going to a custom fabricator/local auto restorer. They could probably throw something together for you in short order and at very little cost. |

Well if memory serves me right they are 3/8 material and they have a slot in there for adjustment and all that jazz... Kyle |

wow, kyle, thats pretty deep. i wouldn't have guessed that the long slot that you remeber (and is shown in the picture) would be for something as extreeme as an adjustment.. |

Actually Rob , I had a brain cramp and didnt finish . I think the slot can be ditched and replaced with just one hole in the position that it needs to be on his truck.... In otherwords , if heis gonna make it it can be simplfied and still be as affective... Kyle |

and probably superior, like the ARB bumper. ideally you dont want any slot in there or you'll get movement, and that just helps lead to premature falure rd |
