I was wondering if anyone out there uses the HiClone product on their discos. I have purchased one, and except for a smoother idle and small increase in response, I have not been able to record any increase in fuel economy. This is the primary aim of the product. For those wondering what the hell Im on about, check out the site below. 'www.hicloneqld.com' |

Take it out and see if you can get your money back before it is too late. There is a similar product sold in the states called the "Tornado." It, too, is a joke. Even if the device could improve airflow through a vortex-like airflow, the vortex would diminish once it hit the throttle-plate, and any leftover benfit of this vortex would flat disappear after the air entered the manifold. Hey, have any of you seen the Tornado experiment with the 2 2-liter bottles of water, shaking it so the water spins and empties into the other bottle faster? Guess what? That actually works...why? Because the top bottle, with the water needs to replace the displaced water with air in order to empty the water quickly. If you don't spin the water, the bottle goes, "glug, glug, glug" as it releases water, then the internal pressure of the deforming bottle sucks a gulp of air back in. By spinning the water in the bottle, air is able to travel into the bottle in the middle of the "vortex" while the swirling water spins around the air current and displaces into the lower bottle. The bottle experiment works and is the real deal, but it is mistakenly applied to the concepts surround the engine's open system. To compare apples to apples, you need to cut the bottom off of the water-filled 2-liter bottle as it is turned upside down...now you can compare it to an engine's airflow, and go ahead and see if spinning the water will help it drain any quicker. There's some pointless information for you...hopefully none of us become more stupid because of it. |
