Will i have to re-pack the bearings on a 97 disco (rear) when i replace the hub seals? I know there is an inner and an outer seal, but are the bearings self lubricating or do ihave to re-pack them? Also, how long should each side take to replace the seals, from start to finish?
thanks for the input.

There is only an outer seal on the 97 and yes i would repack them with a good quality grease.

The outer seal is paper and you shuld also change the tab washer.

Time me i am slow and get a bit anal, it take me about 30 to 45 per wheel, I have all the tools and a parts washer

Correction on the seals for the 97 ther is an outer paper seal on the axel flange and an inner grease seal on the hub. pre ABS has a seal on both the inner and outer
