I am about to pick up my 2002 Westminster this saturday and I really want to put heated seats into it. The problem is that I dont know if Land Rover makes the Westminsters anthratic wood trim with the holes for the buttons. Does anybody have any idea. Also what about the pads for the seats, and clue to whether it has it, and if not how har to put in.....Thanks

I've heard from some other DII owners that you can buy the pads as parts and slip them in yourself. But you'll have to remove the seat leather, so maybe having a professional do it would make sense (CoachWorks company).

Otherwise, I bet you could find an aftermarket wood trim manufacturer that makes the replacement plates for heated and non-heated. Check the guys on ebay that post their stuff all the time and see if the wood grain comes close to matching. OTherwise, get out the Dremel and cut them yourself.

Will: Amazed that the special edition doesn't have them fitted.
Personally I'd not buy a Disco right now, as the 2003 with its 4.6 motor will be a far better machine.

yea that is what I was thinking about the 2003, but the deals are rediculous on the 2002s right now. They are discounting them like crazy and basically added anything I wanted to my new car. I got them to put on rock sliders, mats, brush bar....I will have to talk to the dealer about how much the install for a job like this would cost I dont think I want to go with aftermarket stuff like that. Thanks

the westminster edition has a special extior color, mine is zambezi silver, as well as a limited edition black interior with anthratic wood trim. It comes the navigation system and harmon kardon, etc... but no heated seats. Basically it is an SE with different colors trim and rims. If you must know my discount was over 7000 plus the aditional stuff they put on, such as the sliders, mats, guard, and we were gonna do the heated seats but I came weiry of them cutting it and such, but I might go back to it.

$7000?? they must be insane!! theres a little less than 5 grand profit in those trucks. why would they take a $2,000 loss + give you the other stuff? that would make me think that there may be wool pulling goin on somewhere. if thats a real deal... then you made out like a bandit!!!

same with the '02 rangies - i could have stepped into a westminster RR with 0 miles for $800/mo, which is down from the normal $1200/mo they were charging.

man do i love my '91 RRC :)

hahaha....yea the deals now are amazing. They are really trying to dump them. My guess is that the factory is givign some incentives back to the dealers for getting rid of them and making room for the 2003. I was extatic when I negotiated my price and I did check around and no one would touch it, so it does depend on the dealer and location, and probably your relationship with them, mine is pretty good so....... Sorry it was like 7000+ with the stuff they put on, but regardless I made a killing.

Will, what dealership? I have a friend looking for a car in Buffalo, but I have convinced them to wait for the 03's. But if there's another deal out there like that, it may be in their best interest to get the '02. CDL is no consequence to them.
