Front coil spring spacer - ???

For the front perch, how does one reattach the lower front shock? The pictures show a hole but no size is indicated. Can stud extentions be used here? Would it be possible to mount the shock to the spacer which is sandwiched between spring and perch? Thank you for this group and your help. Stephen
