Can anyone let me know the cheapest way that I can fit a 32inch tire on my 96Disco. I just need something to tied me over until I can really get into the build up. |

Cheapest... Aluminium Cutters for 29.99$ from sears (back in 2000)...cut a lot of the fenders, and put around 1cm spacers for the rear arms... that is the CHEAPEST! |

What about spring spacers? Anybody use them? Would I need new shocks or brake lines? Personal opinions........ |

Don't go with the spring spacers. If you really want to do this CB style, put a posting on the wanted board for a set of used rear heavy duty springs, install them in the rear and put the ones you took out up front. Or, you can just buy a set of new rear springs that will give you the desired lift to clear the tires you wish to mount. Probly cost somewhere around $150 depending upon vendor. I think most of us will say you're going about this backwards, buying tires first and then building up. Is there a reason you must buy tires now? |

Paul--------The reason that I'm so intent on the tires is that the ones on my Disco are almost bald and I already have a set of 32's left over from another rig. I usually would have changed the bumpers and thrown on a winch b4 anything else. Oh well. Money is pretty tight right now so this is how I have to go. Thanks for the help guys. This is the first LandRover that I have ever owned. I have been building Fj40's since I was 16 so at least I'm already fairly capable of handling projects. Thanks again to everyone for the help. |
