Well, the first time you do it always takes the longest. Plan for about six hours of time. To make the job easier, it helps to have a shop with lift, pneumatic tools spring compressor and great set of tools. Overall, it's about the same as a civic. I think DWeb has a great set of instructions for installation. Ask some friends for company and to lend a hand when necessary. |

Kyle's instructions in the tech section lay the steps out very well. Definitely get yourself a good set of six ton jack stands. I like to have piece of mind when I'm underneath the truck. |

you don't need a spring compressor, they take too long. support the rame with the jack stands and the axles with a jack. undo the shocks and then lower the axle. on the front, i have never removed the shock tower to get the shocks out. just removed the shock from below at the same time with the springs. to get the front's out/in you might have to loosen the front sway bar mounts to the frame. total job takes about 2-3 hours. also before you start, look at the condition of all the bolts and use some sort of penentrant a day before if they look bad. BTW where are you located? |

Use your stock bottle jack to jack the front axle DOWN, after your truck is in the air. This way you can get enough space to pop the springs out. Make sure your brake lines don't get bound up. It's also easier if you let the right side front sway bar down, it gives the front driveshaft a bit more room to drop when you're doing the bottle jack trick. Good luck. |
