Well, Saturday's the day!

I have finally assembled the parts necessary for my CDL linkage installation, and I couldn't be more excited!

My Disco II will finally have CDL! I can't wait to test it out. Anyhow, I will let you guys know how it goes! Wish me luck!

Good luck! You'll love it. And you'll wonder why LR removed it.

Done, finally! Biggest problems:

1) Increasing the offset in the transfer case hi-lo selector linkage... Use a tabletop vise... Makes things very easy.

2) Adjusting the transfer case linkage arm and the CDL linkage arm. It's easy to lose reference without the center console there. Mine works, but the transfer case shift is "off" a little bit. Still works though.

3) Lesson learned... USE LR GENUINE PARTS, even down to the bushings and pins! These things are more precise than I thought.

Craig
Once you received the shifter, what other parts did you need? I know that there are two seals listed in the EE write-up but did you need any other LR parts?

My shifter linkage was incomplete. I was missing several parts, mainly clips, pins and bushings.

I tried to improvise some with general hardware, but quickly learned that the pivot pins and bushings are essential. There cannot be any play in the CDL linkage arm, or the CDL nut will not turn consistently. I was able to fix the problem on Sunday without LR parts, but it took me 4 hours longer and a lot of cursing to get to a point where I could have been 4 hours sooner if I had just been smart and used the LR part.
