Is the black hood paint a do it yourself job? How much does it cost to do it and how do we actually put it on? What do we need for it? |

I think these answers depends on the quality of the job that you want. At a minimum, you can just get a can of flat black spray paint and paint it yourself. Tape around the area using masking tape to give yourself nice clean lines. Cover everything (say in a 12 foot radius) with newspaper (tape it down) or drop cloths to prevent overspray from getting on everything. Clean off the wax in the area to be painted with mineral spirits or acetone, sand it a little with 600 grit sand paper to rough up the paint a bit (to insure the new paint will adhere). Be sure to clean the again before applying the paint. Apply the paint in nice thin/even coats. Two coats should about do it. Thanks, Mike B. |
