When I turn my D2 on it starts up fine and then at the end of the ignition process it makes this funny little grinding noise that only lasts for like a second. Anybody have any idea what it could be. Thanks |

Its probably your starter eating the flywheel. I'm guessing, but it sounds to me like it's not disengaging properly. Eventually, the teeth on one or both will break. Thanks, Mike B. |

That sounds bad, "The teeth on one or both will break," What can be done about it. I am going to bring mine in to the dealership on monday to get looked at. What could have caused this to occur. Thanks |

Mine does this also!! (exactly how you described).. when I asked the LR mechanic about it, he said this was normal and the sound was from the ABS engaging or something. Does this sound bogus??? Keep Us Posted on what you find out about this. RJ |

That sounds bogus to me. It really bothers me, the sound. Its like when I turn the car on it like struggles for a second, like when the battery is low, and then it turns on and then a second later the grinding, and then after a second it stops. I am going to call them tomorrow and hopefully have it looked at on tuesday. I hope that it is just normal but it really bothers me, then again I hope that it isnt normal and that it isn't a serious problem so they take care of it quickly. I'll let everyone know. |

It is OKAY!!!!!!!! I went to the dealer and I have confirmed that the noise which I heard that sounded like a grinding is infact just the ABS pump engaging. Actually, the noise does not occur every time you start the car, generally only after it has sat for a little while or it is cold outside. YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAA!! WWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! |
