Anybody know if the hub bolts are the same on a Disco I vs. a series? I am placing and order with Thatched roof for some new lugs (to replace the POS GCR ones I bought that are totally rusted) and need to replace 10 hub bolts as well (to replace the POS Pep Boys ones i tried to use that rusted like crazy).

They aren't sure if the bolts are the same on older series as on Disco's.

Thanks,

Tom

I dont know but I do know that 8.8 stainless ones have been working fine for a couple of years now. Good ole Ace hardware...

Did you paint them black? If so, what did you use.

I am pretty sure they are M10x1.5, if that helps at all.

Yeah Matt , I think thats the Size. I let em ride like they were. I keep some in the bag and as the originals wear out I replace with the stainless ones...

stainless steel bolts are fine stuff and may work in this application (no question of safety here). But they are are of course not as strong as steel ones of higher quality (Rover took 10.9, rarely 12.9, instead of the 8.0). I´ve heard of someone who replaced the 2 long bolts on the rear of the A-Frame (that hold the big balljoint which is fixed to the center of the rear axle) by s/s ones and they broke soon off-road.
So in suspension as a rule better not use s/s.
