Just curious, mine seems to be coming in a little high, it doesn'tshift until around 50mph. Our highway mileage is great, almost 18mpg, but our city is around 12.

Around 51 or so And its the lock up COnverter you are feeling.. Its ussually stacked right on top of the 4th gear shift unless you are on it..

Its when the engine is locked up 1 to 1 with the rear. An old style torque converter used to slip pretty much non stop. Now an electrical signal to a solonoid closes a vent in the trans diverting the fluid to a clutch in the converter which in turn locks it like another shift..

i was curious about this too...because when i get on it...its seems to have a 5 speed...good to know...
