What do I need to do to fit these on a stock D1?
Any one got recent experience?
I am looking at Yokohama M/T's.
Thank you

I too am curious. I read here that this size is considered optimal by the Disco Jedi. I compared the stock 235/75-16 and the 235/85-16 side by side at costco and I was really surprised at the difference and the 85s are *TALL*, *NARROW*, and *HEAVY*!. A few questions:

- will the OME shocks and mild Rovertym springs provide enough clearance for these meats?

- any driveline consequences?

Typically, one will use a 2" lift and either gently bend the rear panels out using Kyle's method, or trim the rear fenders to allow for clearance. It sounds like serious body mutilation, but on mine, many have told me that can't tell, but I can.

Yes, a mild lift and even the stock shocks will allow one to run these tires. I used the CB method lift with RTE springs and oem shocks with no problems. Eventually went with the Bilsteins as the woodheads were leaking worse everyday.

Driveline vibes seem to be a crap shoot. Some get them and some don't. What little I had went away with new shocks and u-joints. I'm sure that bushings would tighten things up some more too.

Don't know about the yokos, I went BFG AT in the Jedi size. I really like the amount of sidewall I have-a tremendous amount of flex.

As the Jedi would say, "Just do it"!
