We just picked up our 99 D1 last week, and our salesman at the dealer said not to listen to the book and put in 89. It runs great off of it so far.

The gems-type injection has a knock-sensor, wrong ?
So its supposed to retard ignition automatically and tolerate lower-octane fuel, at cost of a little power. Or do only the MK II Range Rovers have this gimmick ?. I know too little about these details.
