I would like to make some spacers. Where can I buy the aluminum pieces to do so? Thanks |

http://www.onlinemetals.com I believe is where they are most commonly purchased. |

Look in your yellow pages for a fabrication shop or metals supplier. I only use onlinemetals where absolutely necessary. Don't get me wrong, they are really good guys and have some exotic stuff (best 4130 selection anywhere!), but their stock lengths and shipping costs can eat you alive. It is better to look locally first. You might find a shop that will give you pieces from the scrap bin if you approach them right. peace, Paul |

yeah, go local. Also try a salvage shop - that's where I get all my odd steel/Al pieces. You sift through their piles, choose a piece, they cut it, and you give "the man" about $5 to add to his wad of greasy money. Everyone be happy |

Blue has the right spirit here. I love sifting through piles, although buying directly from online metals is still cheap. When I bought two 1" spacers from them, it was a total of $16+. |
