Have you checked to see if both of your antenna jacks are plugged into the radio? It makes a heck of a difference!

I have the same problem in my 98 LSE the radio reception bad. I get some static on all but the strongest station. In other cars I don't have this problem. I have taken the radio out and checked both the jacks from the diverstiy antennas and they are plugged in. I don't notice much of a difference when one is unplugged though. I want get a signal booster, but moost FM signal boosters I've seen don't seem to be compatible with land rover's antenna setup.
I'd love to hear thoughts on this.

Actually, your Disco's antennas already have signal boosters. One on each side above the window and behind the trim. You might want to check and make sure they're getting power.

thanks for the input
i failed to explain the problem corectly,,sorry.
the radio works fine , and the reception in and around the city outskirts is ok. But when i travel away from town , the reception drops out a lot sooner than all the other cars that i have been in.
I will check the conection at the back of the radio.
another question while im here,Is the conection to the arial on the window a convential radio plug or will i have to splice it to conect anouther arial
Thanks for your help
