Hi there,

some time ago someone asked for experience with this heat-resistant tape that is sold to be wrapped around the exh.manifolds to keep down heat radiation.

I cannot find this thread, but don´t remember that there were answers.
I was/am interested in this stuff, too so again again. Any comments on that stuff ?

REgards,
Hendrik

it works good on headers because you can wrap them evenly. because you cant wrap manifolds completly sometimes the wrap consontrates heat causing cracked manifolds

offroad the wrap absorbs mud and water and smells like a cornroast all the time

unless your looking for 3 more HP to win Baja I'd pass on the wrap

IMHO

Checkout this site, it is the "only" good way of accomplishing what you want.

Jet hot is the way to go its pricey through them, In my area several of the coating shops offer the same process for much less

Dee --

I was just about to send a set of used Rover manifolds to Jet Hot -- they're charging $195 to do the pair. How much do your local shops charge? Is it the same ceramic coating inside & out?

Thanks,

Norm

Are you doing it on our DII? If so I'd like to buy / trade you my DII exhuast manifolds... Good consept if there is a extra set floating around so there is no down time waiting for the headers to return..:)

Norm it seemed they were about 75 or 95 for both I ended up having the ones off my RR alu sprayed 35 or so each . I am pulling the ones of the Disco soon an will look into it. The best shop in town is RW Little coatings on Pacific Coast Hwy. Part of the cost for Jet Hot is shipping there in Az i think

Where are you located?

Carl --

I'm doing a '95 DI and picked up a spare set at a salvage yard. Not sure if these would fit a DII, although I seem to have heard somewhere that all the Rover V8 manifolds from the 3.5 to the 4.6 are the same.

You mean the Peoples DEMOCRATIC Republic of California (complete with Gray "Brown Out" Davis sporting a JFK haircut)?

Just be glad you're not in the special Workers Collective of Berzerkeley.

Excessive cranking, again.
There were a few of us a while back that had this same problem, but I'm not sure if anyone ever found the solution. My 95 D1 will crank for 5-7 seconds before starting. I replaced the fuel pump, filter, rotor, cap, & wires as well as turning the key to "on" a few times to let it pressurize. It seems to be getting worse too.Any other ideas would be helpful, thanks. -Tony
