I found my trailer connection behind the r-rear taillight and I have some questions about using it: 1) I want to use a normal 4 pin flat connector..can I buy a universal adapter anywhere that goes from the round 7 pin to the flat 4 pin or is that a LR thing only 2) Along with the 7 pin connector, there's 2 wires with female connectors that each have a red plug in each. What are these for...electric brakes? 3) I would assume that you wouldn't run the wiring harness thru the back of the Disco then close the door on it. I'd like to run it down somehow so it exits from under the bumper? I see a plug under the body (under the taillight ass'y)that you could pierce and run the plug out of. Is this what it's for? Sorry to be so long winded.. Thanx for any help you can give. |

Hello Paul, Go to the Tech section and read Trailerwiring. I followed these instructions and works great. Your local U-haul store should have the plug. I just run my out my back door for my boat trailer. Works great, but I guess you could run them from under that hole. Good Luck |

I bought the LR trailer kit with 4-flat connecter, converter, pigtail, hitch pin, hitch clip, grease, 2" reciever slug, AND a 2" ball from AB for $109 Sounds like a lot, but I popped out the knockout, put in an electrical bushing and plugged it in. Total time: 10 minutes Watertite and working great, even in saltwater... Chuckster PS. I just wire-tied the converter to the reciever support bar, holds it nicely... |

I like the U-Haul idea. I already have the trailer hitch, pin, etc But what are those 2 odd wires? Or shouldn't I worry about it. Thank you very much for the answers. |

the purple wire can be used to run a 12v outlet (not sure if that is what it is really for or not though). the other wire, green I believe, is live only when you are in reverse, probablly for adding additional reverse lights. |
