Guy gets out and gives my wife a box of brand new waterproof seat covers for front and rear seats. He says they didn't fit his seats and gave them to her, and then he drove off. Cool!! (lighter, matches, whatever - very impressive) Then he proceeds, "man, I got arrested last night ... it was the fifth time for the same damn thing! I think I've had it with this place, I'm going back to San Diego. The cops here are screwed, and the chicks are really unfriendly." (hmmmmm, I can't imagine why) He went on, it was pretty pathetic. I can see great in the dark, but not so great during the day. This mandates that whenever I drive during the day, I need sunglasses. What class were you racing in?   gp (Garrett) Posted on Tuesday, July 02, 2002 - 11:40 am:    yep i got there on saturday and was parked over along the steep downhill section below the power lines. i had a bright blue North Face Lunarlight 2 man tent on the roof. it is a epsom green D1 with black NATO wheels. lifted a bit and some big hellas up top. i was actually not racing in this event. the past 3 months i have not been riding as much as i should have been, so there was no way i was riding this event. i was there with my friends in 3 classes: Team Short Bus (expert 4 man), Team Steak College (dual expert) and Chris (riding solo). Short Bus finished 5th and Steak College 3rd. very cool race though. we hiked up to the 'wall' at night and watched all the riders coming up the climb with their lights on. very cool. what were you driving? i saw a red D90 and a few stock D1's and D2's.   DavidS Posted on Tuesday, July 02, 2002 - 12:00 pm:    That's the truck. I didn't take my disco, I got a ride with a friend. I was riding in the back of a f-150 all weekend taking bikes back to the condo. I was wrenching for team Dirt Rag- 5 person open. We were in 3rd all night until 3am when one guy decided to pass out on the trail. So, we had to cancel his lap which put us a lap down. We ended up in 12th, but there's not much we could have done. It was a good race. The course was so muddy on friday, but got better all weekend. There was some pretty good stuff going down the powerline. It wasn't bad at all. For races like that I think that simple bikes are always better. There were a lot of guys on Indy Fab single speeds. Did you check out Team Hugh Jass.
