I have noticed that the empty space between my diff guards and diff cover fill up with mud pretty quickly and it is hard to wash out of there. It has me wondering if I need to be concerned about rust.

I would just take them off and wash them out after I get in the mud, but that front one is a bitch.

My intitial reaction was not to worry about it since I figured the famous Land Rover automatic underbody rust prevention and lubrication system would handle it, but I thought I would check with you guys.

Any thoughts?

I smeared antiseize all around the inside band of the diffguard i made and installed on my D1, Long term test on rust remains to be seen but it couldnt hurt, I also thought about Waxol the front cover first.

I spray cheap undercoating on the diff cover before I put the guards on.
