I read the past posts about the problems with the ABS. Mine just started over the past weekend and I am leaving Texas tonight and driving to Northern Va for the week. I am going to disconnect the connector at the ABS pump just to make sure it will not try to reset itself. Any long term reports on this? Problems.. improvements? I think one of the sensors is just giving me a problem and I will check it with my the ODB2 reader at my Dad's shop.
Thanks!

PS... anything going on the Va for next week?

If you can make it to Richmond,VA by Sunday morning June 30th you can join us on a trek to the George Washington National Forrest for a bit of off-roading!

Just out of curiousity how exactly would one "pull" the plug on the ABS. I'm extremely interested!

In the archives you will see several posts on how to do this. One stated to just pull the fuses under the steering wheel the other one was to pull the white wire loom from the side of the ABS module in the engine bay. That is the route I am going until I can hook up the reader and find out what is wrong.
Rob thanks for the input on this. I noticed that the brakes feel a better after this. I checked it last night to make sure I did not knock anything loose after putting on the slotted rotors. .

Guys, I will be doing the ABS unplug tomorrow as well. Behind the air box mounted to the front of the ABS pump assembly is the plug to disconnect (just follow the power leads out of the pump and you will find the plug).

Don, we are meeting at 8:15 Sunday morning in Richmond, VA. My house is about 2 miles from I-95 if thats the way you'll be travelling. Here is the plan:

- meetup with everyone 8:15-8:30 am
- drive up 64W to Waynesboro (Afton Mountain) to the trail head (this is about an hour and 15 minute drive)
- drive the sherando trail then hit crab tree falls.

Its a full day of wheeling but if youre pressed for time you can always hit the highway after the first trail.

The other bonus is that you can drive up to DC on 29 thru charlottesville and avoid the bastard that is I-95.

So far there are 4 Xterras and 3 Discos scheduled.. maybe 4 if you can make it!
