Temperature was over 38 celcius (over 100 for those who use fahrenheit) The airconditioning was only 'cool' not 'cold'. I cannot remember if this is normal or maybe an indication of something needs a fix. Comments anyone? |

When it's hot outside, the A/C has to work very hard to push heat out, just because the temperature gradient between the outside air, and the hot side of the freon loop is not very large. When it's over 100 degrees, my truck has a hard time keeping it comfortable inside. |

We've been banging on 100 degrees for a couple weeks now and the AC is working fine. I just have to remember to push the recirculate button as well as the AC button. Otherwise I'm running hot outside air through the cooler and can never get ahead of the heat. It's kind of like running your house AC with all the doors open. If that's not the problem then the AC probably needs to be serviced. Steve |

Maybe your Evaporator and Condenser on your Discos AC needs to be cleand real good. A dirty Evaporator or Condenser will not allow the AC to cool or heat propery. Alot of times they get gunked up with road grime, leaves, pollen and other crap. Locate then and give them a good hoseing out!! |

Also R134 will slowly leak out of youe Discos AC system over the years. Reason is the molicules of R134 are smaller then the molicules of the copper tubeing and hoseing used. Thus the r134 will SLOOOOOOOOOWLY escape through the walls of the AC system. This may take 3-20 years but this is the common cause of the newer cars needing there AC charged up moire than before with the old R12. Also R134 operates at a much higher pressure than the R12 so and super small leaks in the system will cause the R134 to escape that much faster. |
