What are some good products to clean the Disco's? I'm not sure if i should use a different type of wax for a truck as opposed to my cars. The dealer did a fantastic job (which shocked the hell out of me) and I want to keep it looking as good.I know, stupid question. Also, who makes the best products for conditioning the leather and interior. Any cleaning tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Zak |

For the leather i use Mercedes-Benz leather cleaner. i go to my local dealer and get some. I've been using it now for about 2 years and it works really well. Don't let the name scare you, bottle cost about 15-20 dollars. |

Whatever you do don't Armor-all the inside of anything. If you need to clean the dash, use water and a mild soap if it's really dirty. Leather cleaner for the leather and Tuff-Stuff for the carpet works really well. |

One more thing. As for the wax, use Zymol wax and if you want to use a polish use McGuire's. You can't go wrong with these two. Tires- use Wesley's foaming bleach white and soap and water for the wheels. Also, don't put Armor-all on the outside either. it might look good at first but wait till it rains or a couple of days later, it will look horrible. |

Cooper, Thanks for the info. So what should i use to shine up the plastic surfaces on the outside? Also as far as wax, should I go with a carnuba or another wax for my cars exterior, it's white? |

I use Meguiars deep crystal system. It works great! One bottle is a paint cleaner. Another is polish and the last one is a carnuba wax. Truck looks like it came off the showroom floor. As for the outside plastic pieces I use Black Magic tire wet. Keeps the plastic looking black for a long time in the Colorado sun. It also makes the tires look good too! I agree with using Westley's foaming tire cleaner. It strips everything off but the rubber. Lastly, I use Pledge grab-it to clean up all of the dust and dirt from the interior. Hope this helps some! For the bumper end caps and the mud flaps (yes, I still have mine and they look great!), I use a product called Forever Black. I think Atlantic British still sells it. It works great. I'm still trying to find the best product for all the other rubber products. Thanks, Mike B. |

I use Maguiars polish and Armorall on the exterior as well as murphys oil soap for washing the exterior. On the interior, I left the sunroof open in a rain storm. OOPS. It soaked the headliner, floors and seats. So I shop vaced out the water and dried the seats with a bath towel. It worked great but I don't think that I should recomend it as a cleaning method. |

personally for the plastic surfaces on the outside i dont use anything. for example, i have an ARB for the front so no plastic. i did used to have the factory front and hated it. mud and dirt stained it and my fog lights were little fish tanks so i got rid of it. As for the rear end caps, mine faded pretty nicely over time so i bought new ones. they're cheep ($25 ea.) and they are easy to put on, not to mention they look brand new and you dont have to dress them anymore. i used to put some kind of tire wet stuff on them but it streaked or came right off when it rained. Meguiar's is a great product for the paint. your lucky you have a white one, mine is black. If you want to use a polish, go with Meguiar's. For wax, i just personally like Zymol (comes in a blue bottle) it's full of good stuff. |

o yeah, if you want to shine up your tires, buy a product that you apply by hand like a gel or something instead of a spray. Spray on tire shines tend to fly off at driving speeds and collect onto the side of your truck and there more messy, ex. get on everything. |

Has anyone ever used "Black Chrome" for their black plastic trim and moldings? I used some three weekends ago and it works pretty darn well. If I put it on, it is still black. It comes out a blackish grey (used gear oil look-a-like) but really gets into the "grain" on the bumpers and trim. You can use it on the black paint, too. Check it out. Pretty cheap. Jay |

I used to use Black Chrome on my 1975 Benz, it had some of that black rubber on the outside on the bumpers and that worked great. Cheap and effective, but hard to find. Vinlyex, made by Lexol (who makes great leather care products) also works well on vinyl seats and dashes, tires too, but who wants shiny M/Ts? Chris |
