I am the proud new owner of a 2000 Disco II with the Harmon Cardon system without factory CD changer. I want to put one in now and I would like some info on how to do it and what to buy. I also have a 96 D1 and I know the particulars of that series but not the newer Disovery's. Also I have a Subwoofer that I need to install and I am wondering about pre amp outs on the stock system. Are there any? Sorry if this is a redundant post but all the others have limited info or have been disabled. Thanks...Jeff |

If you have the HK system you should already have an amp. Look under the driver seat for it. As for the CD changer I don't know what after market units you can use. I have the LR OE unit in my 1999 D2. I think it's the same as the ALPINE BMW that sells for a few hundred less at a BMW dealer than at a LR dealer. I also think but I'm not sure that thay both use I-BUS to talk to the head unit but I don't know if the pin outs are the same. |

Thanks for the info Al. I know that someone out there is knowlegable about this but the other threads have been disabled. I am also trying to figure out what DSP is and if I have it or not. Apparently it will prohibit me from using the aftermarket setup some sell. If anyone can help with this issue please do. Thanks...Jeff |

DSP is the Digital Signal Processor. If you have the HK hi-line setup with the amp under the seat and the subs in the rear door then you have it. That is if the 2000 is the same as the 1999. If you're not happy with the factory stereo and have the rear subs try setting the fader more forward and see if that helps. |
