Does anyone have any thoughts on the Denso or Bosch 100amp alternators over the stock Magnetti Mareli(sp?). Also...while looking for alternators, I ran across the Exide Orbitz deep cycle spiral cell battery. The guy at the parts store claimed it to be a much better alternative to the Optima batteries, and that Optima has not been entirely truthful about the cold-cranking amps in their batteries. Thoughts, suggestions, comments or criticisms.... Thanks! Chris Brown '94 Disco |

Yea the Exide Orbital is better than the current Optima batteries. The Excide has a better deep cycle then the Optima. There was a big post a while back about the Exide v/s Optima here. Maybe try a search and you may find more info. |

DO NOT get a rebuilt alternator, whatever you do. I put 4 bosch rebuilds in last summer. The last one cought on fire. (They kept giving them to me for free after the first 3 went up within a month) |
