I recently changed the Tie Rod Ends and the Front Tie Rod Bar, had a local Hibdons do a front-end alignment and rotate and balance. After that the disco pulled to the left. Thinking it was the alignment causing the problem I took it to a different Hibdons for another alignment, still pulls.. Is there something I did or could it be my tires?

Are you running the stock diffs? Limited slip diffs can cause it to pull to the left if anything is out of kilter.

Have you checked the tire pressure? If off significantly, it will pull.

It could be a broken belt in the radial tires. This is one of those good news items. You don't need to bother diagnosing it, the problem tire will fall apart for you shortly!

How did they rotate then? X pattern or front to back? It's supposed to be front to back, not an X pattern. Try unrotating the tires.

Or, it could just be a bad alignment job.

Best of luck in your efforts. I really hate turning my truck over to other people to work on. Most of the time, they end up screwing up something.

Thanks,
Mike B.

"Or, it could just be a bad alignment job."
Could it??? There's only one serviceable alignment, which is the toe-out - and too much/too little should not make it pull to one of the sides, only make it harder or easier to turn (that is: if running on an even surface). Ain't that right or what?

The drag link (on LHD) is connected to the right wheel (i.e. PAS turns right wheel only). The track rod connects right wheel with left wheel, thus making the left wheel turn when right wheel is turned.

Correct me if I'm right...

What I'd suspect (if wheels/air pressure is correct), is the steering damper or it being unprimed when reconnected.

Thanks for all your help. You really think it could be the steering damper? I did disconnect it to take off the back tie rod bar. What do you mean by unprimed? Thanks for all the help.

Hei Frode

Nice to see a fellow Norwegian on the board! How active is the Land Rover community in Norway, trips, offroading, tech...? I'll be bringing my 2000 DII V8 to Norway this winter. Do you know of any good places in Norway to get a propan conversion done?

Gleder meg til norske vintere og bensinprisene etter 4 aar in California....

Med vennlig hilsen
Carl Georg

Dustin:
Bilsteins are reknown for pulling to the right...
Priming: What you do when installing any shockabsrobers, i.e. compress it all the way in, retract to full length, compress...2-3 times to relieve any airbubbles.

Carl Georg:
Du har svar på det norske forumet! Og ikke glem at Axel fra discoteam er/var norsk!

Roverly Yours, Frode
